With Her Not Against Her

In rural areas in Egypt including the target village of ''Nazlat Omara'', poverty and illiteracy are prevalent. Low socioeconomic conditions and high unemployment rates cause negative social practices such as sexual harassment in public places. In order to decrease cases of sexual harassment in the public transport station in Nazlet Omara, community action members will advocate for the presence of a group of police officers responsible for security who are sensitive to gender-based violence. A variety of advocacy activities will take place to engage the maximum number of community members including local religious and opinion leaders in addition to law enforcing representative staff in the village.

Mission

Increase the presence of gender-sensitive police officers in the central station of Nazlet Omara to ensure the rights of women and girls are protected against gender-based violence including sexual violence.
