Women, trans and non-binary people,\u00a0youth,\u00a0people living in rural areas,\u00a0Indigenous people,\u00a0or\u00a0even\u00a0people with criminal records\u00a0are often faced with\u00a0additional\u00a0barriers to fully\u00a0participating\u00a0in initiatives that affect them.\u00a0How can we ensure that projects\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0just include them, but truly place their leadership and\u00a0expertise\u00a0at the heart of decision-making?\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h4><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Developed by the Working Group of the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/equitas.org\/support-guide\/#actif\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Act Together for Inclusion Fund<\/span><\/b><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(ACTIF),\u00a0this\u00a0new\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cCentering Underrepresented Voices in LGBTQI+ Projects: Lessons Learned and Best Practices\u201d<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0tipsheet\u00a0compiles insights from Canadian organizations and their partners in the Global South who are committed to advocating for the rights of LGBTQI+ people.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0tipsheet\u00a0encourages organizations to move beyond a mere\u00a0inclusion mindset and adopt an approach that truly\u00a0centers underrepresented voices from the very beginning, including when defining\u00a0objectives, designing activities, and assigning roles and responsibilities.
